" [San Francisco] is a dashing place, rather faster than Philadelphia . . ."

--Henry George

Come along for free on Monday evenings at 6PM. This weekly edition of the walk departs from the American Youth Hostel, located at 312 Mason St., near Union Square. Join us for a first-rate introduction to many of San Francisco's architectural highlights, public places, anecdotal delights, and its BIG IDEA.

The tour covers about a mile and a half in two and a half hours. It's a walking tour, so wear comfortable shoes. It's history, design, and a hands-on economic tutorial that has pleased and stimulated over 1,800 people.

Call (415) 970-9306 to reserve a spot for our next departure or to inquire about pricing for a private walk for yourself or your group.

  • Where are the city's oldest buildings?

  • Where did the Emperor of the United States preside?

  • And more!
