For Teachers
Classroom teachers (K-12) and administrators are invited to contact us about inservices, lesson plans, and special programs we've developed to help convey fundamental economic concepts to students.

We offer:

  • An on-site two hour inservice demonstrating ways existing curriculum can be translated by the teacher into embedded economic lessons covering supply and demand, wages/interest/rent, labor/capital/rent, scarcity, opportunity cost, and efficiency. Good for all grade levels.
  • A 15 lesson curriculum introducing the concepts listed above. Good for third grade and up.
  • An actor presenting the historic story of Kate Kennedy, a San Francisco school teacher who moonlighted as an economics lecturer and set the legal precedent for equal pay for women in the United States. Kennedy also secured tenure and other professional rights for teachers. This assembly program costs $125 for two 30 minute programs, suitable grades 3-12.
  • Another actor presenting the historic figure of Henry George, a San Francisco economist and social philosopher. This program introduces students and teachers alike to fundamental economic concepts and their relevancy to daily life. This program costs $125 for three hours of on-site, in-the-classroom presentation.
